Fiber Optic Supply

Passive Optical Networks

A passive optical network shares fiber optic strands for portions of the network. Powered equipment is required only at the source and receiving ends of the signal. They have less range than an active optical network, meaning subscribers must be geographically closer to the central source of the data.

Fiber To The Home

Fiber to the home (FTTH), also called "fiber to the premises" (FTTP), is the installation and use of optical fiber from a central point directly to individual buildings such as residences, apartment buildings and businesses to provide unprecedented high-speed Internet access. FTTH dramatically increases the connection speeds available to computer users compared with technologies now used in most places.

Active Optical Networks

An active optical system uses electrically powered switching equipment, such as a router or a switch aggregator, to manage signal distribution and direct signals to specific customers. This switch opens and closes in various ways to direct the incoming and outgoing signals to the proper place.

InterConnections

Fiber Optic Interconnections are one of the largest and most widely used areas for fiber optic cables and assemblies. An interconnect is defined as the physical connection of two or more fixtures through which communication is possible. Interconnects range from simple, simplex patch cords to multi-channel distribution and backbone cables and virtually everything in between.
